This piece was exhibited at the Burchfeild-Penney Art Center in 2007, where the juror, Lloyd E. Herman, made comment to the changes in ceramics through use of medium and concept. Although I do not agree that this is a recent change in the medium, I am glad to see it is still acknowledged. If we are not going forward very quickly, at least we are not tumbling backward. This piece was made in the fall of 2004. At the time I was completely lost in what I wanted to make. The Thumbs, and wood fired gnome people were made around the same time. |
