Madman Studios is run by Erin Jackson with the help of her husband Mike Jackson. Madman Studios is located in the Sacramento Valley in Davis, CA. Erin has an extensive history of working with ceramics. Currently she is producing ceramic planter pots. These can be made in any size from the size of a shot glass to large enough to hold a small tree. The pots are usually thrown on a potter's wheel, but the larger pots are coil built. The shape of the coil built pots have a much more dynamic personality whereas the wheel thrown pots are more straightforward. None of the pots are made static. They all have fluidity to them.

There are two basic types of pots produced. One is a plain brown with no glaze. The other is a brown pot usually covered in white slip, sometimes light green or white with brown speckles. The slip is then drawn into to produce a brown line on a white, light green or speckled background. These are then covered with a clear glaze. Prices start at $15 an go up depending on the size of the pot. Size and color can be ordered. If a pot with a drawing is desired the drawing is done at the discretion of the artist. Drawings will be similar to the drawings on the pots seen on this website. Orders are pre-paid and there are no refunds. Madman Studios only sells pots with the highest level of craftmanship. Deliveries can be negotiated, no mailing.

Erin also produces paintings. In the past these have been done using acrylic paints on masonite. Currently they are made with oil paints on wood, usually recycled doors cut to specific sizes. If you see a painting you like, you may buy it. Paintings are not made to order. They will come ready to hang. I do not frame my paintings. Paintings start at $30.
